The 2016 year was our first year providing three nutritious food groups to a hundred percent of our programs and all at a time of major transition in the operations. We enhanced the “bin in the classroom” program, as a result of increased dialogue with our schools and volunteers. The outcome of all these changes has been an increase of fifteen percent in the number of young students in Waterloo Region receiving nutritious food. Along with this increased demand comes the work of finding additional funds and monitoring costs. We do not want to turn away any school in need.
On behalf of the board and staff and most of all the kids, we thank our partners, our grantors, corporate donors , numerous schools and individuals and the volunteers who make it all possible.
Together we are making a difference and if you have any doubt , we received a bulk order last week with this added on the end from Laurentian School , one of many similar notes.
“just a note of thanks for all the hard work on your end, I actually hear kids saying “ I have nothing healthy in my lunch can I have something”.
